안녕하세요? 이번 글은 SNAP(Sentinel Application Platform)을 다운로드 및 설치하는 과정을 정리해 보겠습니다. SNAP은 모든 Sentinel Toolbox의 공통 아키텍처(common architecture)로 Brockmann Consult, Skywatch, Sensar 및 C-S에서 개발했습니다.
SNAP 아키텍처(architecture)는 다음과 같은 기술 혁신으로 인해 지구 관측(EO: Earth Observation) 처리 및 분석에 이상적입니다:
- 확장성(extensibility)
- 이식성(portability)
- 모듈식 리치 클라이언트 플랫폼(modular rich client platform)
- 일반 EO 데이터 추상화(generic EO data abstraction)
- 타일식 메모리 관리(tiled memory management)
- 그래프 처리 프레임워크(graph processing framework)
SNAP 및 개별 Sentinel Toolbox는 Sentinel 센서 이외의 다양한 센서를 지원합니다. ESA/ESRIN은 SNAP 사용자 도구를 Earth Observation Community에 무료로 제공하고 있습니다.

이 글을 작성하는 시점에서 SNAP의 현재 버전은 2022년 6월 29일 배포된 9.0.0입니다.
사용자 편의를 위해 3종의 설치 프로그램을 제공합니다: Sentinel Toolboxes, SMOS Toolbox, All Toolboxes. 여기서는 Windows 64-Bit All Toolboxes를 설치해 보겠습니다.
- Sentinel Toolboxes: Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3 Toolboxes (900MB)
- SMOS Toolbox: SMOS Toolbox (500MB)
- All Toolboxes: Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3 Toolboxes, SMOS and PROBA-V Toolbox (1GB)
이전에 SNAP을 사용한 경우, 최신 버전을 설치하기 전에 이전 SNAP 버전을 제거하는 것이 좋습니다. 참고로 Main Download(주요 다운로드)는 소프트웨어 제작자가 공식적으로 제공하는 다운로드 경로를, Mirror Download(미러 다운로드)는 제3자 또는 다른 서버가 제공하는 사본 다운로드 경로를 가리킵니다.
SNAP 설치
SNAP은 자유 소프트웨어 재단(Free Software Foundation)에서 만든 GNU 일반 공중 사용 허가서(GNU General Public License, GNU GPL 또는 GPL)을 따릅니다.
설치 프로그램이 이전 설치에서 SNAP 사용자 데이터 디렉토리를 감지해서 SNAP의 구성 데이터 및 사용자 설정을 삭제하겠는지 묻는 창입니다. 여기서는 SNAP-내부 구성 데이터만 삭제하는 권장 옵션을 선택합니다.
설치할 구성 요소를 선택하는 창입니다: SNAP, Sentinel-1 Toolbox, Sentinel-2 Toolbox, Sentinel-3 Toolbox, Radarsat Toolbox, SMOS-Box, PROBA-V Toolbox.
